How do I get my utility bill emailed to me?

Lithopolis residents can create an online account through SmartBill to receive their water bill via email.

How do I pay my utility bill?

Village of Lithopolis residents use the Point and Pay system below to pay water bills online.  Checks or money orders made out to the Village of Lithopolis can be delivered to the Village of Lithopolis office.

When does trash get collected?

Please set out Trash and Recycling totes on Tuesday evening. Trash and Recycling gets collected by Rumpke on Wednesday mornings starting at 6:00 am.

How do I schedule bulk pick up for furniture or appliances?

When is Mayor's Court?

Mayor’s Court is held every second and fourth Monday of the month at the Village of Lithopolis Administrative Building

11820 Lithopolis Road Lithopolis, OH 43136. Doors open at 5:00 PM and hearings begin at 5:30 PM

Court cases are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I fill out a Zoning or Building Application

The Village of Lithopolis has a contract with a Building Inspector through SAFEbuilt LLC and all applications and plans must go through CommunityCore.

What do I need a Zoning Permit For?

You must have a zoning permit before work begins.

The following projects require a zoning permit, or a special permit as noted:

  • Radio antennas, masts or windmills greater than six feet above the main structure
  • Any construction in the required side, front or rear yard setbacks
  • Fire/security detection systems (alarm owner’s permit from the local police and an installer’s permit)
  • Any remodeling project that does include structural changes

What does NOT need a Zoning Permit?

Any remodeling project that does not include structural changes and includes like-for-like replacement in the same location, such as the below, does not require construction permits:

  • Kitchen/bath fixture replacement or remodeling
  • Interior refinishing
  • Door/window replacement
  • Roof/gutter/downspout repairs
  • Driveway/sidewalk repair, replacement, resurfacing if done to the Village’s standards (work in the right-of-way requires a permit)
  • Tuck-pointing and/or repair of exterior masonry
  • Basement waterproofing

When are Council Meetings held?

Village Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 PM in the Village Office at 11820 Lithopolis Road NW. The public is welcome to attend meetings or to provide comments on any Village-related matter.

The first Saturday following the first Monday in September is designated as “Lithopolis Honeyfest Day” to honor the annual honey festival held on that day in the village of Lithopolis in Fairfield County.

The Village of Lithopolis is home to two green spaces, Alice Smith Nature Preserve which is off of OH-674 South/Winchester Southern Road  and Wilson Park which is off of Market Street.
